FAQ
Direct or marketplace?
Is it cheaper to hire you directly than through a marketplace?
Usually, yes — marketplaces take a commission and that shows up somewhere in the price. What you give up by going direct is the platform's escrow and dispute process. For a first engagement with someone you have not worked with, that protection is often worth the margin, and I would rather you felt safe than saved 10%.
Why would I use Fiverr or Upwork instead of just emailing you?
Because you do not know me yet. A marketplace holds your money until you approve the work, keeps a permanent record of the agreement, and gives you a dispute process that does not depend on my goodwill. If that makes a first project feel safer, use it — the work is identical either way.
Do you do the same quality of work on a marketplace?
The same. Same process, same CI pipeline, same security review, same handover. The only difference is who holds the money and who arbitrates if something goes wrong.
What if I want to start on a marketplace and move to direct later?
That is the common path and it is fine by me. People typically run a first scoped project through a platform, then work directly once the relationship is established. There is no lock-in either way — you own the code from the first commit regardless of how the work was contracted.
